When Walter Camp Came to Campus

During the early decades the rules of football were in constant evolution.  This program is from the Yale Princeton Game of 1881, which ended in a scoreless tie. The game revealed flaws in the rules which were revised to require a team advance the ball five yards in three downs or give it up to the other side.  Walter Camp, who was active in establishing this change, is listed as a halfback below for Yale.
